Day 22 - Giant Sequoias

OMG . . . How do you top our experience from yesterday? We are still in Oakhurst, CA, near the  southern entrance to Yosemite. Today we decided to explore Yosemite's Mariposa grove, home of the largest sequoia tree in the world! It was a 2 mile hike in. We took the hiking trail, which was a little slippery with snow and ice, but we took the road back, which was not slippery but was tougher on our feet! No worries, after a couple of hours we can walk again. LOL😄 Here are some highlights of our day:

Phil and Sandy inside the tunnel tree!

In front of the Grizzy Giant, the biggest of them all and 2,995 years old. (That's the tree, not us!)

Full size of Grizzy Giant. Zoom in and you can see the spec that is Phil.

The bachelor and three graces (name of this group), not including Phil

Sandy and the Sequoias

Look real close and you can see Phil at the base of this sequoia

Who shrunk Phil?

I hope there are no bears hibernating in this tree!

Smarter than your average bear! 😄
